DESIGN ANSWERS
During Milano Design Week, Regione Lombardia and ADI welcome visitors at the spectacular Belvedere building of Regione Lombardia to deepen the solutions honoured with Compasso d’Oro award and to reflect on how design could improve our daily lives

Design Answers is the initiative organized by Regione Lombardia, in cooperation with the Lombard delegation of ADI Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (Association for the Industrial Design), in order to stimulate the reflection by general public and operators about design's founding values through the evidence of desires expressed by very young designers and through the exhibition of 20 solutions available on the market.
Portrayed in everyday life, the young designers – participants of Design Competitions promoted by Regione Lombardia or students in Design – make requests that find possible answers in products awarded with ADI Compasso d'Oro Award since its very early editions. A selection of 20 objects, conceived by the best designers and made by the best companies, all connected with the gold award and all in production now, give testimony to the sense of project, to the system of values – such as duration, balance, precision, competence, honesty, courage, wisdom, efficiency, solidarity, intelligence, beauty – and to the plurality of typologies, materials, technologies, languages, expressions that design embeds to find innovative and contemporary solutions to the multitude of demands and needs that characterize our existence.
Improving quality and cultural use of everyday objects is the ultimate aim of design: ADI Manifesto, Design Memorandum 2.0, sets the ethical professional principles for designers and producers in contemporary society. The Compasso d'Oro Award, today open to international design, and the Foundation, created to add value to its historical heritage with products exibitions all over the world, are testimony to the virtuous dialogue among professionals, industry and institutions, for the benefit of the whole community.
Regione Lombardia, always careful to social, economic and cultural development of citizenry, many years ago decided to cooperate with ADI and with the best actors of project world in order to make design a vehicle able to generate increasingly virtuous results in our territory.
Working together on everyone's problems: designers, entrepreneurs, institutions, and citizens meet together thanks to Design Answers to improve the diffusion of products that are more and more functional, easy to use, able to express the personality of their creators and users.
