TRI-R the new LED by Toshiba Materials
lands to the London Design Festival September 17-25 - 2016

After a lighting road show through Europe TRI-R, the new LED technology developed by Toshiba Materials in collaboration with TOL Studio, finally lands at the international London Design Festival 2016 where it will take part to two main shows.
Ingo Maurer at Forza - Forza showroom Sept 17-25 – to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Ingo Maurer the renowned international lighting designer. The collaboration with Maurer started in 2015 when TRI-R, producing a natural light based on the sun, was chosen for the iconic lamp Lucellino.
100% Design show – Olympia, London Sept 21 -24 at Materials Village, the Material ConneXion Italia hub dedicated to new technology, materials and sustainability.

The natural light produced by TRI-R is the closest to the solar spectrum, compared to that produced by conventional LED, gives sharpness to details and textures without altering colours. Thanks to its reduced blue component and the uniformity of its continuous spectrum,OTRI-R produces white light similar to that of the sun, which safeguards the circadian rhythm, man's natural psychophysical and biological balance. This is the subject of research by several international universities, where the influence of TRI-R and conventional LED lighting have on humans is being studied.
TRI-R can make a significant contribution to the design of architectural space, giving it softness and warmth, in particular to hospitality areas (hotels, salons) in which personal wellbeing is important. A recent application has been at world-famous architect Marco Piva exhibition held at the superb Scuola della Misericordia di Venezia during Venice Architecture Biennale (May 27-June 20 2016).
The official launch came at 2016 Light + Building trade fair in Frankfurt. Then TRI-R was applied to contexts in which lighting quality is a priority: within the scope of art museums, lighting Da Vinci and Caravaggio masterpieces at Milan Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, then in the Symbolism exhibition held at Palazzo Reale (3rd February-5th June 2016 Milan), in industrial design, in Ingo Maurer's Lucellino and Lumina's Daphine lamps, and in the medical field – for several surgeries in Japan.
